If Lanyu was the only show I was allowed to attend for F/W 2017 fashion week, I would’ve been totally okay with it. Lanyu showed me the wardrobe that I didn’t know I needed or wanted.
Not only was her collection dreamy but it also had a star-studded front row that included Olivia Culpo and Nicky Hilton Rothschild.
Lan Yu is a notable Chinese designer that presented a couture line of pastel colors from lime green, jade, to baby blue in her Fall/ Winter 2017 collection at New York Fashion Week.
I wanted to wear Lanyu’s pieces straight off of her models and there was nothing I would’ve changed about each detail of their outfits and Lanyu’s show in general.
The models wore natural make-up but had colored eyebrows that fir nicely towards the vibe of show.
The person wearing Lanyu is a high-fashion girl who’s intimidating because she’s someone who can do it all–she’s unstoppable and looks classy and fabulous doing whatever she sets out to do.
She can be found at fanciest galas and hotels. She’s someone who is simply high fashion, knows how to dress, and know what she wants.
On a completely random note, I’d want to get stuck in Alice’s Wonderland wearing her clothes. It made me feel adventurous and sultry.
Lanyu had everything I was looking for in coats. In the winter you can find plenty of fashionable coats, but the problem is that most if not all look the same. There are very few coats that stand out on women because they’re not that much different from each other.
But If you wear Lanyu’s coats, you’re bound to make heads turn. If Jackie O were alive today, she would wear Lanyu’s coats.
The brand was able to choose the softest cashmere and the best wools, and you didn’t have to feel the material to see that it was made from high quality. Lanyu also added beautiful braids and flare to many of her clocks. It was the cuts on her coats that made them different and beautiful.
I could wear their lace bodysuits with a nice pair of jeans for a sexy night out in town. Her tulle dresses were ready to be worn to a fancy brunch.
Unlike many designers we see at Fashion Week who produce collections that can realistically only be worn on a red carpet, Lanyu gives you looks that you can wear on the red carpet and or to a nice casual dinner.
There’s a saying that goes “never let the clothes to wear you, but you wear the clothes”; however, if you were to wear a piece from this collection, I’m confident in the confidence that will come out of you and the persona you will exude because of the clothes.
You’ll feel sexy, powerful, and beautiful. Here are some of my favorite looks:
